| Sunday, February 11, 2001 Dear Kate, I hope you are as lucky as I am to find a friend as full of love and as special as Annie is to me. I know no one more loving, more caring or more...tuned in to ME!! She knows my heart, she knows how my mind works, she always knows what to say when I need encouragement or help getting back in touch with my own inner strength. And she does all of this so damn well. It's scary sometimes. She's always just what I need when I need *something.* Her love and understanding was most valuable to me during some difficult times Joe and I were growing through last year. God, how time changes things. But if there was anyone I could be completely open and honest with, and feel completely understood and rightfully guided by, it was Annie all the way. She helped (helps) me think, she helped (helps) me see clearly. She helped (helps) me put first things first. She's my own personal guardian angel right here in real life. I try hard not to dwell on the past. But some things about the past have everything to do with where we are today. Annie and I have shared so much--it's so hard to explain what she and I have. I feel like no words can do our friendship justice. I love her with all my heart. I am grateful for knowing her, for being loved by her, for every single way she's touched my life.
