I'm starting this entry as I'm packing up the last of my things to move out of my Manhattan apartment and back into my Long Island house. Leaving anywhere is generally always so bittersweet.

It goes without saying that I'll miss my commute to work everyday.

I won't miss the bugs, although I haven't seen any in a good while. That's probably partially because I haven't been here much lately.

I was just packing up my coffee pot, which was sitting on the window sill in the kitchen, and I had to wash it down first. It was covered in what can only be described as grime. Only in New York City can grime find its way through a fifth-floor window. I won't miss grime.

I'm finishing this entry at home. Joe helped me load the truck--well, OK, he was being macho and did most of it himself. But then he had to get to work, and I drove home and unloaded most of it myself. My futon and an air conditioner I saved for him to grab tomorrow morning.

On the way home today, I couldn't help but notice that the sky seems bluer on Long Island...(I think it had something to do with the fact that the buildings are much shorter, therefore putting the sky into much greater perspective.)

I stopped by my parents' house to see my mom, since she leaves for a trip to Ireland tomorrow. Then I took my security deposit and went shopping.

I looked at Palm Pilots, bought a new cordless phone because one of ours is dead, bought for Joe a duffel bag on wheels that I'll probably use on occassion, cat food and litter, and dinner at Long John Silvers. I also went paint shopping. We've been in our house for two years now and very little has gotten done. Joe is very handy, but also very unmotivated.

And so, here I am.

Here's to a move back home that is much less anti-climactic than this entry.

Quote Of The Day:

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the [gal] who'll decide where to go."
--Dr. Seuss

Background Music:

"Imagine"
--John Lennon

Today's High:

Finding that duffle bag on wheels for 40% off!

Today's Low:

Hmmm...my neck is kinda sore. I don't see the chiropractor again until Wednesday.

Top Five Things
I like about our house:

1) Joe's in it.

2) Daisy's in it.

3) The front door looks great.

4) The closets are spacious.

5) It's on a quiet block in a nice neighborhood.
